Pranab Mukherjee on 2-day visit of Maharashtra from tomorrow: Raj Bhavan
President Pranab Mukherjee will arrive in Maharashtra tomorrow on a two-day visit to attend two functions, according to the Raj Bhavan.
He will be received at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) by Governor K Sankaranarayanan tomorrow afternoon, sources in the Raj Bhavan said here.
In the evening, Mr Mukherjee will preside over the annual Jamnalal Bajaj awards presentation ceremony at Y B Chavan Centre in south Mumbai.
The Jamnalal Bajaj awards for this year will be presented to Jaywant Gangaram Mathkar (Constructive Social Work), Kalyan Paul (Application of Science and Technology for Rural Development), Ms Nighat Shafi (Development and Welfare of Women and Children) and Prof Glenn Paige (Promoting Gandhian Values outside India).
On Friday afternoon, at around 1215 hrs, President Mukherjee accompanied by the Governor will inaugurate the New Bhakta Niwas at Shri Sai Baba Santhan, Shirdi, in Rahata taluka of Ahmednagar district.
After the inaugural function, he will leave for Delhi in the evening from Nashik's Ozhar airport, the sources added.
