Farmers agitation continues, loss of revenue for ST buses

Even as the agitation by the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana, demanding remunerative prices for farmers for their crops entered the third day today, a revenue of Rs one crore was lost in Kolhapur Division of State Transport with the suspension of their daily ST trips in various parts of the District.

Official sources said about 150 trips of ST buses were cancelled. Several passengers, who ventured out for Diwali festival,were stuck at various bus stands.

A few buses started their operation on a few roads from about 12 depots in the district, but after information received about Rasta roko agitation at two places, the Division suspended services.

However, Karnataka buses were comming as usual from outside.

There wee a big crowd of passengers at Railway Stations and many of them were transported by private buses and cars to their respective places.
