Gujarat Governor Dr Kamla and Chief Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the people on occasion of Diwali and New year.
In a message, Dr Kamla hoped that the festival of Diwali and the new year bring peace, prosperity and bonhomie among the people.
In a separate message, Mr Modi said, "I pray that this festival lights the lamp of happiness in every house. I would like to wish our Gujarati brothers and sisters on the commencement of Nutan Varsh (New Year). May the coming year bring heaps of peace joy and prosperity in our lives." "Diwali has been an integral part of our culture for thousands of years, commemorating the time when Shri Ram returned victorious to Ayodhya. It is the ultimate triumph of good over evil," he said.
Meanwhile, the leaders of other political parties, including Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia and Leader of Opposition Shaktisinh Gohil, conveyed their greetings to the people.
