At least eight people, six of them belonging to one family, were killed in an explosion in a village in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday while making fire crackers clandestinely, reports said.
The incident occurred in a village under Auraiya district's Bela police station area early in the morning of Tuesday.
Police said 12 others were injured in the explosion.
Illegal fire cracker manufacturing is a rampant practice in India, especially in rural belts.
