Mamata Banerjee grants leave for govt employees on religious festivals
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced that 'willing' government employees could avail of leave on Mahavir Jayanti and Buddha Jayanti.
Interacting with newspersons at Writers' Buildings, the chief minister said such employees could also get holidays on other religious festivals like Chhat Puja, Sabebarat and Easter.
Ms Banerjee made this observation while conveying her greetings for Dewali.
Incidentally, the government employees were awarded with 10-days uninterrupted leave during Durga Puja this year.
Commencing the holidays on October 20 (Mahashasthi), the leave had been extended upto October 29 (Lakshmi Puja).
