The Odisha Medical Service Association(OMSA), the apex body of the government doctors in the state, has flayed report of State Commission of Women (SCW) Jyoti Panigrahi on the mysterious death of lady doctor Madhavilata indicting the Puri chief district medical officer Gyanendra Kumar Sahoo.
In a statement here today, OMSA said the report was meant to shield the politicians, bureaucrats and the police.
It said during the investigation Ms Panigrahi found that the Zilla Parishad President Debraj Behera and Brahmagiri BJD legislator Sanjay Kumar Dasburma had exerted pressure to transfer Madhabilata.
The CDMO after getting clearance from Puri Collector Arabind Agarwal released the transfer order.
The OMSA regretted that despite the reported fact that the SWC found fault with the GRP which did gross mistake in post mortem requisition papers and responsible for missing of the body and the Kumbharpara police, which did nothing for a fortnight in the pretext of investigation, Ms Panigrahi preferred to not to name them in her report.
This apart, NRHM chairman Arabind Agarwal the then collector who approved the transfer was also not figured in her report, the OMSA statement said.
Puri district congress president Sarat Kumar Rath and several other organizations have also lambasted the SWC report and dismissed it.
The body of Ayush doctor Madhabilata was found between the railway tracks near the Malatipatpur railway station on October 12 last the day her brother filed a complaint with the Kumbharpara police station on the missing of his sister.
