Maintaining that he was Minister of entire country and not just of a state, Minister of State for Railways Adhir Chowdhury today assured that Bengal will not be deprived by the Indian Railways.
Mr Chowdhury said this after laying the foundation stone of 54.29 km double line project between Plassey and Jiaganj.
Railway Board has sanctioned rs 234.41 crore for the project.
"Ami je Kaj Korte Parbo, sei kajer protishruti debo.
Janotar hat tali pabar jonyo protishruti debo na, (I will announce only those railway projects which can be ful filled, but I shall not assure more of that just to get clap)," the Minister said.
He desired to get the co-operation from the state government in acquisition of land for the development of railway project.
Mr Chowdhury said he had no 'Aladin' lamp in his hand that he can ful fill all the announced projects of Railways.
He indirectly hinted at the huge project that is done by previous railway minister of TMC.
"Bengal will not be deprived by railways. I am Minister of all India. Every state will get its quota of railway," he added.
Mr Chowdhury also stated that a double line will be placed from Katwa to Farrakka.
