Karzai arrives in Delhi, to meet Manmohan Singh tomorrow
Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai arrived here on Sunday evening on the second leg of his four-day state visit to India.
The visiting dignitary, who was received by Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai on his arrival here, will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh tomorrow.
While in Delhi, President Karzai will be accorded a ceremonial welcome on November 12. President Pranab Mukherjee will host a state banquet in his honour.
President Karzai will deliver the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Memorial Lecture organized by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations in New Delhi on November 12.
The Afghan President arrived in Mumbai on November 9 on the first leg of his visit to India.
President Karzai's visit, after Prime Minister's landmark visit to Kabul in May 2011, carries forward the high-level engagement between the two countries.
During President Karzai's last visit to India in October 2011, a historic 'Strategic Partnership Agreement' was signed.
The visit provides an opportunity for both countries to review and consolidate their strategic partnership and discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
