Anna Hazare meets new core group
Veteran social activist Anna Hazare on Saturday met members of the core committee of his new anti-corruption group here to decide on the strategy of his movement against corruption.
According to reports, Kiran Bedi, Santosh Hegde and Medha Patkar attended the meeting.
Former army general V.K. Singh was a special invitee to the meeting.
"We have resumed our work. Today, we are going to decide our strategy," Anna told reporters before the meeting.
Former cop turned social activist Kiran Bedi Kiran Bedi earlier tweeted: "Anna's Core Grp meets today. Each 1 is a personal invitee of Anna. This will b phase 1 of CG! Will spread out nationally for several causes!"
Pertinently, this was the first meeting of Anna's core committee.
Anna's new apolitical team will comprise of Kiran Bedi, Santosh Hegde, Medha Patkar, Akhil Gogoi and former DG (Prisons of Punjab) Shashi Kant, among others, said reports.
The 75-year-old anti-corruption crusader returned to the capital on Friday evening after attending some events in Guwahati.
