Director Zack Snyder's new Superman film "Man Of Steel" is set to release in 3D format in selected theatres.
"The film is going to be a visually exciting experience in all formats - 2D, 3D and IMAX. We have designed and photographed the movie in a way that it would allow the film to captivate those moviegoers, while respecting fans, who prefer a more traditional cinematic experience," Snyder said in a statement.
"We've taken great measures to ensure the film and the story come first, and 3D is meant as an enhancement," he added.
The film features Henry Cavill in the role of Superman/Clark Kent, alongside Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe.
"Man Of Steel" will hit screens June 14, 2013 and Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute it worldwide.
