Kochi, Jan 18 : Veteran playback singer K.J.Yesudas Monday filed a petition in the Kerala High Court seeking the court's intervention for a control on prics of life-saving drugs.
The petition was accepted by a bench of Chief Justice S.R.Bannurmath and Justice Thottathil B.Radhakrishnan, who asked a notice to be served on the state and central governments and the state drugs controller, seeking their response to the petition.
In his petition, Yesudas said he had sought the intervention of the court because the prices of life-saving drugs have sky-rocketed, and the poor and the downtrodden especially are finding it difficult to buy such medicines, when they deserve to get it free if not at a subsidised rate.
