Govt to set up task force on publishing industry

New Delhi, Jul 3 : The Government will soon come up with a task force to bring more transparency into the publishing industry, Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said here last night.

Speaking at the launch of Manjul Publishing House's new imprint 'Amaryllis', Mr Sibal expressed deep concern over publishing houses paying mere 10 per cent royalty to the authors.

''I hope 'Amaryllis' publisher Vikas Rakheja will move away from 10 per cent royalty. I believe as the sales of a book go up, so should the royalty of its author,'' the Minister said.

For this, he called for counting procedures in the publishing industry.
