Bihali killing: Assam government seeks CBI probe
On Wednesday, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had said that the state government written a letter to seek a CBI probe into the incident.
During a press conference held at Guwahati on Wednesday, Gogoi said the state government had discussed with the Arunachal Pradesh government for the incident and years long border dispute issue.
"We have strongly condemned for the incident and seeking a CBI probe," Gogoi said.
The Assam CM had appealed to the organizations who have continued economic blockade against Arunachal Pradesh protest against the killing incident to lift the blockade.
Suspected Arunachali attackers fired indiscriminately on a group of Assam side at Chaoldhowa area near Bihali reserve forest in Sonitpur district along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border on Jan 29, where at least 11 innocent people were killed and seven others injured.
On other hand, Gogoi said that Maoists have active in nine districts in Assam and trying to recruitment drive in some areas targeting to the tea garden workers.
"Maoists have been trying to spread their activities in some new areas in the state with the help of some overground organizations," Gogoi said.
"Pakistan intelligence agency ISI and other outfit groups of the region have helped Maoists in Assam," he said.
The Assam CM also alleged that an Assam based farmers organization have linked with red rebels.
