Chief Election Officer V Venkateswara Rao today asked officials to prepare documentation of election process and take steps to resolve the election related cases at the earliest.


The Election Officer at the regional conference here, in which officials of Krishna, Prakasham, Guntur and West Godavari districts attended, directed officials to submit a comprehensive report on the cases violations of code of conduct, seizure of cash and liquor.

He asked officials to resolve the election related cases in the fast track courts. Krishna district Joint Collector J Murali said that 340 cases were registered in the district and cash Rs 9.71 crore was seized. FIR was registered in 252 cases. 61,791 liters illicit liquor worth Rs.30.90 lakh was seized.

West Godavari Joint Collector T Babu Rao explained that cash Rs 5.62 crore was seized and 330 cases were registered. Guntur district Joint Collector K Nageswra Rao informed that cash Rs 7.32 crore was seized.

The CEO complemented the officials for conducting election without any major incidents. Krishna district Superintendent of police J Prabhakar Rao, Praksham district ASP, D Ramu Nayak, West Godavari ASP Chandrasekhar and Vijayawada DCP Gita Devi attended the conference.
