The Karnataka BJP has recommended for four berth in the Centre Cabinet even as stage was all set for former Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to take oath as Prime Minister of the country tomorrow.

The State BJP President and MP Pralhad Joshi today said the state unit has decided to appeal to Mr Modi to include in the Cabinet former Chief Ministers B S Yedyurappa, Sadanand Gowda, former Union Minister Ananth Kumar and senior member Ramesh Jigjinagi into the cabinet.

He said this recommendation was being done on the basis of their seniority and experience and their contribution to the party. Their service would be more useful to the nation, he added.

He said the party High Command had suggested the state unit to strive hard to elect 14 members from Karnataka to the Parliament and 17 candidates were elected from the state. This has been an achievement beyond our expectation, he added.

Clarifying about the letter by Mr Yedyurappa to Mr Modi offering himself to serve the party in the State, Mr Joshi said any positive and constructive suggestion was welcome and this letter was not written with an eye on President post in state party unit. The party would accept any positive suggestion by the senior members of the party.

Mr Joshi, who held Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for the debacle of Congress in Mysore constituency, asked him to tender his resignation owing moral responsibility for the defeat.
