Girls outshine boys in UP intermediate exams: Girls grab the merit list
Girl have again performed better than the boys in the Uttar Pradesh Intermediate Board exams results declared here today.
A record eight girls took the merit position with Barabanki girls jointly were the toppers. Of the nine toppers all girls except one boy, seven were from Barabanki and two from Fatehpur.
While the total pass percentage of the students in the exams was 92.21 per cent, the girls average was 95.13 per cent and the boys were 89.81 per cent. Ms Shail Yadav, acting director of the UP Education Board, announcing the results said here today that altogether 31,32,028 filled up their forms but only 30,48,370 appeared of which 28,10,992 passed.
Disha Verma of Ram Sevek Yadav Smarak Inter College Barabanki and Riya Verma of Rani Laxmibai Inter College ,Barabanki were joint toppers this year with a marks of 487 out of 500.
Two girls Reshu Verma and Tanushree Verma,both of Maharani Laxmi Bai Inter College ,Barabanki were joint on the second place with 485 marks. In the third place there are five students, four girls and a boy with 484/500 marks. Shivraj Singh, of Sri Sai Inter College Lakharabad, Barabanki, Puja Yadav of Rani Laxmi Bai Inter College, Barabanki, Vijayshree Bajpai of Varish Chidren Academy, Barabanki along with Archita Prajapati and Pallavi Gupta of Vikas Vidya Mandir Inter College, Jahanabad, Fatehpur, were jointly at the third place.
