Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar today directed officials that all cards being made for primary families under National Food Security Programme should be made by May 31.

So far 80 per cent cards have bee made and 75 per cent have been distributed.

Mr Kumar reviewed the preparation of the National Food Security Programme through a video-conferencing with all District Magistrates here and said another such meeting would be held on May 31.

The CS also gave directions to the DMs to not use the code of conduct as an excuse to execute development work.

Since the already implemented programs do not come under ambit of code of conduct.

The notification for the Panchayat elections is to be announced soon.

The Food Commissioner, Ravinath Raman, said the computerisation of Public Distribution System will commence in June.

Voter ID, mobile numbers and bank accounts have to be included in Data Digitisation.

All DMs have been provided with formats which have to be completed.

The data entry work has to be completed by August 31.
