UP BJP leaders camp in Delhi to get the Union ministerial berth
Several senior BJP leaders and their associates are camping at the national capital for the past couple of days to impress upon the party high command for their inclusion in the Union Ministry.
Around one dozen, MPs from UP are slated to get the ministerial berth with half a dozen of Cabinet rank hence there is a rat-race to get the coveted post.
Senior leaders are regularly meeting the top party leadership and even approaching the RSS so that they could be accommodated in the ministry.
A senior BJP leader, who is camping in New Delhi, claimed that several names are being discussed with the Party president Rajnath Singh to clear the names from the state.
Prominent MPs who are in the race to get the ministerial berth representing state are Mr Singh, Hukum Singh, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Kalraj Mishra, Menaka Gandhi or her son Varun Gandhi, Santosh Gangwar, Anupriya Patel of Apna dal, General V K Singh, Former Mumbai police commissioner Satyapal Singh and Yogi Adityanath.
Sources said senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi could be a choice for the Lok Sabha speaker post otherwise will get place in Cabinet.
'A clear picture would emerge by tonight or tomorrow morning when the leaders would be invited for the oath ceremony to take place at the Rashtrapati Bhawan tomorrow evening,' sources said.
Meanwhile, there is a rush to seeking invitation by the state leaders for tomorrow's swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
