Reiterating confidence in the leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Capt Amarinder Singh, senior Congress leader and PCC vice-president O P Soni today condemned the misuse of his name in a statement by the Punjab Congress Committee against Capt Singh.

In a statement here today, Mr Soni reiterated that as a Congressman his loyalties were with the party and he only supported Capt Singh and Ms Gandhi and nobody else. He warned against misusing his name without his knowledge and authority.

He disclosed that most of the MLAs whose names had been used in the PCC statement had not been taken into confidence. He said this was highly condemnable and must be viewed seriously by the party high command.

He pointed out that all these MLAs had told the media that they were not taken into confidence prior to the issuing of the statement.

The PCC vice-president also questioned the disciplinary notice against Kewal Singh Dhillon and Rana Sodhi, saying both of them were working in Anandpur Sahab and Amritsar at the instructions of the Congress high command. 'So where is the question of indiscipline ?' he asked.
