Modi swearing-in: Massive preparations in Rashtrapati Bhavan
Massive preparations have been launched since early this morning for historic swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi in the forecourt of President house here tomorrow.
Security agencies have swung into action and mounted impregnable security around the Rashtrapati Bhavan and sour rounding areas as guests started arriving in the capital. Mr Modi and his senior party colleagues remained busy in weaving the dream cabinet.
Sources have indicated that the cabinet will be compact and slimmer and expansion after some time cannot be ruled out to meet mounting aspirations and government requirements.
Arun Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh, Ananth Kumar, Nitin Gadkari are among leaders who may be sworn-in tomorrow besides some members of the allies of the National Democratic Alliance.
Speculations of responsibilities to be shouldered by two veteran leaders L K Advani and Muril Manohar Joshi grew further with indications that Dr Joshi might be anointed as Speaker of the Lok Sabha while Mr Advani might be the alliance chairman. No official word is available so far.
Likewise, change in guards in the party was also speculated if Mr Rajnath Singh takes over as Cabinet minister either in defence or home.
Sources said party leader J P Nadda may replace Mr Rajnath Singh as party president.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other SAARC leaders are attending the event.
