Freedom fighter Doreswamy defends Kejriwal
Veteran freedom fighter H S Doreswamy today defended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal rejecting to furnish bail bond to get released on a defamation case filed by BJP leader Nitin Gadkari.
In a letter to the media, the nonagenarian said that 'Kejriwal has every right to reject to furnish bail bond in Gadkari's defamation case. The court also has the right to send him to jail in case he is not prepared furnish bond. Nothing strange in this episode. '
Alleging that the whole world knows Gadkari is corrupt, Mr Doreswamy demanded 'let the court order the investigation. Whether Kejriwal has all the evidence to establish that the Gadkari is the most corrupt. it is the responsibility of court as well to direct the CBI and economic offence wing to investigate before punishing Kejriwal.'
He said that previous investigations have revealed that the addresses of offices of Gadkari had established in some parts of Maharashtra were fake ones.
Reiterating his defence, Mr Doreswamy said that 'many more Kejriwal of his sort should come out to court arrest, if we want a corruption free leadership in this country.'
