TDP chief Chandrababu gears for exploiting Modism
TDP president and CM designate of residual Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrabababu Naidu has once again outsmarted his rivals and set the agenda for them.
In Seemandhra, he has put the scare of defections in the YS Jagan camp and in Telangana, Mr Naidu is giving the TRS chief a good run for attracting investors and industrialists.
Mr Naidu is weighing the pros and cons his poll sops including waiver of farm loans and SHG women loans and the support from Modi government to meet the one time burden of Rs 82,000 crore .
"Naidu is expected to get an assurance from Prime Minister Modi of support for the waiver scheme when both meet at Delhi in next two days" said a spokesman of the TDP.
Besides holding a special session with Confederation of Indian Industry members in Hyderabad with a power point presentation on investment potential in Andhra Pradesh, Mr Naidu has also made it clear to officials that he was not keen to share the secretariat in Hyderabad with Chandrasekhar Rao.
"I don't want to enter the Secretariat where Mr Rao is around and instead want to speed up construction of a secretariat and capital in the Vijayawada-Guntur region at the earliest
Mr Naidu informed the industrialists many of whom came forward to liberally contribute to kitty for the new capital.
TDP today pooh poohed the charges of YSRC on TDP encouraging defections after an independent MLA from Pithapuram in East Godavari was admitted into TDP in presence of Chandrababu Naidu.
"We have more than absolute majority. Jagan party is crying hoarse as its own MLAs want to leave" said TDP spokesman Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
Mr Naidu is still vacillating over taking charge of his government after June 2nd.
TDP sources say that his Government would not be sworn in before June 8 as there were no good auspicious 'muhurth' in between, though new states will come into being on June 2.
Ahead of taking oath, Naidu is interacting with state administration and Chief Secretary Dr Mohanty on immediate needs of people of Seemandhra and also holding talks with industrialists.
However, Mr Naidu's counter part in Telangana has fixed 1257 hrs in afternoon of June 2 for swearing-in of his 15-member cabinet and announce his package of sops, which included waiver of farmers loans up to Rs one lakh and free houses to poor.
Both Naidu and Rao have teams of experts and retired IAS to work out schemes and programs to bag funds from Narender Modi government in the full budget session being envisaged by end of June itself.
Immediate task of TRS government is to procure additional power supply for its needs in Hyderabad and for khariff agricultural operations in Nalgonda, Mahbuibnagar, Khammam and Nizamabad, prime paddy and tobacco cultivation zones in Telangana.
Mr Rao has sought services of power expert S Narasinga Rao from Coal India.
Mr Naidu has also set up a team of retired IAS like S V Prasad, K Lakshminarayana and Randeep Sudan to get investors from US, Asia and also Europe to set up IT companies in eastern coast.
Mr Naidu also presented PPP (power point presentation) to Chief secretary and other officials who called on him what stop gap arrangements he expected in Hyderabad as an joint capital.
Mr Naidu going to Delhi tomorrow to lobby for lucrative berths for TDP in NDA cabinet and also exploit the BJP prospects from the state like Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya to get key portfolios for sake of Andhra Pradesh development.
