The Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI), New Delhi, is organising a two-day National Seminar on Companies Act, 2013 on May 26 and 27.


Informing this at a news conference here last night, ICAI central council member and programme director CA Babu Abraham Kallivayalil said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy would inaugurate the meeting, in which additional secretary Ministry of Corporate Affairs M J Jospeh would be the guest of honour.

The conference would deliberate on various topics of the companies Act, 2013 covering in detail the intricacies of the latest enactment, he said adding that the topics discussed in the seminar were of great contemporary relevance for all those connected to the corporate world and would provide fresh insights and guidance to discharge their enhanced responsibilities.

"The new Companies Act 2013 though intended to ensure financial discipline in the corporate world preventing the chances of fraud and ms management, it is putting lot of hardships on small and medium size companies and its auditors. The ICAI has decided to bring thee difficulties to the notice of the new government to enact suitable amendments," he said.
