After success of the innovative Women Powerline 1090, Uttar Pradesh government has now given another facility to them to register their police complaint online without going to police station.

Principal Secretary Home Anil Kumar Gupta said here today till date around 85 women have made their complaints online and police have started investigating the matter. The online complaint can be done directly either by the victim or anyone else of her family or friend.

"Women complaining through online will directly go to the concerned police station and senior officials will weekly review the progress of the investigation," Mr Gupta said.

He said in website, the complaint would also get the facility of submitting their video evidence or other papers which would be a record in their case.

"The record of the victim will be kept secret and in no way anyone can remove it or see it without prior permission of the senior authorities," he said.

Women Powerline 1090 was launched on November 15,2012 and till date around 2.13 lakh complaints were made by the harassed women out of which 1.98 lakh cases were disposed of after investigation and action against the accused.

Of the total cases of Women Powerline, 543 police cases were also registered at different police stations of the state against the accused.
