140 persons apprehended during surprise ticket checking driver
The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway (SCR) apprehended nearly 140 persons during surprise checks carried out against ticketless / irregular travel and un-booked luggage on Secunderabad-Kazipet section.
During the drives conducted yesterday, Out of the 140 persons, 78 persons were found traveling without ticket; 24 persons were found traveling irregularly and 38 cases of un-booked luggage, SCR said in a release here today.
An amount of Rs. 43, 615 was realized from them towards penalty.
Officials and Ticket Checking Staff moved by road in a special bus. They stopped at several stations and mid-sections and carried out checks on many important trains.
The check was conducted under the direct supervision of Ravi Padi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Assistant Commercial Manager, Secunderabad Division.
Four Express trains and two Passenger Trains were thoroughly checked on Secunderabad-Kazipet section by 29 Ticket Checking staff and 10 Railway Protection Force personnel.
