Modi says 'Aavjo Gujarat ', reaches Delhi
Bidding 'Aavjo' (goodbye) to his home state Gujarat, Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi arrived in the national capital this evening, four days ahead of taking oath as the 15th PM of India.
Mr Modi, sources said, reached Gujarat Bhavan in the Capital in the evening.
In Ahmedabad, Modi thanked media persons for their support and co-operation during his 13-year regime as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
''I thank all journalists, editors and columnists who supported and co-operated with me during the last 13 years or so.
''I hope we will work together in future for the betterment of Gujarat and the nation,' Mr Modi told reporters before taking a flight to Delhi this afternoon.
Mr Modi also bid farewell to 65 million Gujaratis saying, 'Aavjo Gujarat (Adieu Gujarat).'
Before leaving for Delhi, Mr Modi sought blessings of his mother Heeraben in Gandhinagar.
Along with the top BJP leadership, he also attended the swearing-in ceremony of new Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel in the state capital .
The sources said that for the next three days in Delhi, the BJP leaders are expected to hold series of parleys with Modi on Government formation at the Centre.
Modi will be sworn in as India's 15th Prime Minister on May 26 at 1800 hrs in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
