National Fishworkers' Forum (NFF) chairperson M Ilango today expressed hope that the fishermen will have their grievances settled with Mr Narendra Modi, when the latter would assume the office as Prime Minister.

Mr Ilango in a statement said the political parties who gave away Katchatheevu and supported the Setu Samudram project were routed by the fishermen community in the recently concluded Parliament election. It is certain whoever it may be, such parties/persons will be defeated in the future elections too.

He also thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalitha for giving an opportunity to a person from fishermen community to contest the Lok Sabha elections and making him a Parliament member.
