Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka.


Rainfall amounts (cm): Gokarna 14. Lokapur 9. Kumta 6; Lakshmeswar 5; Dharmasthala, Manki, Kiravatti, Hanagal, Jamakhandi, Agumbe, Kurugodu 4 each; Panambur, Yedwad, Yergatti, Ranebennur, Mahalingapur, HB Halli 3 each; Mudibidre, Belthangady, Mangalore AP, Karkala, Siddapura, Honavar, Haliyal, Belgaum AP, Kanabargi AWS, Byadgi, Haveri, Shirahatti, Jamakhandi ARG, Alamatti, Kalgi, Bhagamandala, Arasikere , KR Pet 2 each.

Maximum temperatures rose at many places over North Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka & South Interior Karnataka. They were below normal at a few places over Interior Karnataka and remained normal over Coastal Karnataka.

Bidar has recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.3 deg C in the plains of the State. Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka & North Interior Karnataka. Day 2 May 24th: Rain/thundershowers would occur at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather would prevail over Coastal Karnataka and dry weather would prevail over North Interior Karnataka.

Day 3 May 25th: Rain/thundershowers would occur at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather would prevail over Coastal Karnataka and dry weather would prevail over North Interior Karnataka. Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain would occur at few places over all the districts of South Interior Karnataka, light to moderate rain would occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka & North Interior Karnataka on 23rd May. Light to moderate rain would occur at isolated places over all the districts of South Interior Karnataka, mainly dry weather would prevail over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka & dry weather would prevail over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka on 24th & 25th May.
