Haryana Govt to establish centre of excellence through art & design
With a view to bring qualitative improvement in education through creative medium Haryana Government has decided to establish centre of excellence through art and design (CEAD) in Government Senior Secondary School Nathupur, Gurgaon.
This was disclosed in the 38th meeting of the Executive Committee of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary S C Chaudhary here today. After the meeting, Ms Surina Rajan said Centre of excellence through art and design (CEAD) would work as resource centre for all the cultural centers. Under the campaign the state government would spend Rs 60 lakh during financial 2014-15 for implementation of art education in four districts of the state namely Ambala, Fatehabad, Sirsa and Mewat,she added.
She said under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, uniforms have been provided to all girls, Schedule Caste and Below Poverty line boys. An amount of Rs 6213.77 lakh has been spent for distribution of uniforms. She said two days workshop on Awareness about Social Evils, issues of Security, Health and Hygiene and importance of education in life were organised in Government schools across the state for the girls in the age group of 10-15 years. As many as 363720 girl students have benefitted by this program, she added.
She said in Mewat, one day workshops on awareness for parents has been conducted in 150 government schools .Yoga classes and Self Defence training has been given in 726 schools to the girl students in all the blocks for three months during the year 2013-14. She said an amount of Rs. 91.637 lakh has been incurred as the financial expenditure on yoga and Self Defence training .
She said under Early Childhood care and Education, budget provision of Rs.168.34 lakh for 172 Bachpanshalas for the year 2012-13 was made. A budget of 122.4 lakh has been provided to strengthen the aganwaris by providing the swings.
