Telangana RBI account launches
With just 12 days left for the formation of separate Telangana state, the bifurcation exercise has picked pace with the signing of agreement with the RBI for opening of bank account and treasury by state government of Telangana.
An agreement was signed and Telangana account opened by Chandan Sinha, executive director RBI and Premchand Reddy, Finance Secretary, Government of AP on behalf of Governor, RBI and Governor of Telangana. ESL Narasimhan is Governor for both the states .
With appointed date for Telangana due on June 2 fast approaching, both the states would have separate bank accounts and separate treasury will commence operating on a trial run from May 26, said Raj Bhavan sources .
The option for government employees on Telangana and Seemandhra secretariats was also posted on websites today for a final decision tomorrow evening, said a spokesman of the office of A N Roy, Governor's adviser on personnel .
Nearly 1865 employees have been listed for option to stay with Telangana government in Hyderabad or go back to Seemandhra.
Both the Chief Minister designates of TRS and TDP, K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu called on the Governor ESL Narasimhan had discussed about government formation.
Though both have been declared elected along with their MLAs on May 16 ,the assemblies for both will come into being only after June 2.
The Governor's administration has been seeking their opinion on housing their camp offices , secretariat and all other security arrangements ahead of their swearing in as CMs and their cabinets.
Incidentally,the TRS chief has already been elected as CM designate at a legislature party meet of TRS while the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is yet to be elected as CM designate .
