Assets worth approximately Rs 9 crore were unearthed by the Lokayukta's Special Police Establishment personnel during searches today at two local premises of a district mining officer posted in Rewa.

"The raids yielded details of two plots here and as many in Shahdol, investment of Rs 30 lakh in insurance policies, luxury goods costing Rs 27 lakh, jewellery worth Rs 10.5 lakh, Rs 13.50 lakh in seven bank accounts, Rs 2 lakh, a rifle and a revolver," Rewa's Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta) TK Vidyarthi said.

The action against RN Mishra followed a complaint that he possessed assets disproportionate to known sources of income.

The accused also owns a four-storeyed under-construction house in Patauri area in this district headquarters, a two-storeyed dwelling at Bharat Nagar, 11 acres agricultural land in Ramnagar, a 1.5-acre farmhouse, a luxury car and two motorbikes.

Mishra possesses a two-storeyed house at Bhopal's Minal Residency. Two lockers are yet to be opened.
