Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj today refuted reports in a section of media by saying that he has not decided to resign.

'President has appointed me for a five year term and I will complete the tenure unless President advises otherwise,' Mr Bhardwaj told reporters after attending the Bangalore University Convocation here.

Mr Bhardwaj term ends next month and there were media reports that he has offered his resignation as BJP government came to power at the Centre.

He said it is his constitutional duty to stay in office till another Governor is appointed for the state. Saying that a smooth transition of power is in progress in Delhi, he noted that the new Government can advise the President on the appointment of Governors.
