The Election Commission today said the Model Code of Conduct, enforced for the Lok Sabha polls, has been ceased with immediate effect.


Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar, in a release here, said the model code of conduct was enforced from the date of announcement of election schedule by the Election Commission and was operational till the process of elections was completed.

"The Election Commission has stated that now the declaration of results in respect of all the Parliamentary Constituencies has been completed and the 'Due Constitution' notification has been issued on May 18, the Model Code of Conduct has ceased to be in operation with immediate effect", he said.
