Jawan killed, two injured in Pak firing on LoC in Jammu, infiltration
An Army jawan was killed and two injured in cross border firing along the Line of Control in Jammu while an infiltration bid was successfully foiled in Bhimber Gali Sector of Poonch district in two separate incidents.
a€˜a€™An Army jawan was killed while two injured when Pakistan troops opened fire in Nathu Tibba area of Keri Sub-Sector in Akhnoor this morning at around 1100 hrs," official sources here said.
They said that one jawan was injured when a landmine exploded along the LoC while two others got injured in exchange of firing.
"All the three injured were shifted to the hospital where one succumbed," he added.
The deceased was identified as Bhikeli Uttam Badu of 2 Maratha and the injured were Head Constable Vindor Kumar and Lance Naik Anmol Kumar of 4 Engineers Regiment.
Meanwhile in a separate incident, troops successfully foiled an infiltration bid in Bhimber Gali Sector of Poonch.
a€˜a€™Own troops noticed a suspicious movement of group of three militants this morning in BG Sector,a€™a€™ official sources said.
They added that Army troops fired at them following which they fled towards PoK side, adding, "a search operation was launched and during searches an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by the militants was recovered, which was destroyed in Situ."
Sources said that no damage or casualty has been reported from own side till the last reports came in.
