A parole jumper who was under going life imprisonment for the murder of his wife and was later declared PO was arrested by the police from Patiala.

DGP Haryana had earlier announced an award of Rs 10,000 for his arrest. He was produced in a court here today and sent to jail.

Police spokesperson said that Jaswant a resident of Arjan Nagar locality in kaithal had killed his wife Mangti Devi on January 3, 2007 night with an axe.

The accused also made an attempt on the life of his 10 years old daughter. He was arrested by the police and awarded life sentence in 2008 by the court.

Later the convict went on four week parole and was to return on July 4, 2012 but he did not return. Following this jail authorities registered a case against him. Later he was declared a proclaimed offender by a local court. The CIA team arrested him from Patiala.

During interrogation he told police that to avoid his arrest he used to work on trucks and went to other states with combine harvesting machines.
