Newly elected AIADMK MPs converge at Jayalalithaa's residence to celebrate sweeping victory in polls
Victorious leaders of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Sunday, converged at the residence of Tamil Nadu chief minister, Jayaram Jayalalithaa to extend greetings after her sweeping win in the general elections.
The party won 37 out of the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu and has emerged as the third largest party in the parliament after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress.
Jayalalithaa on Friday had thanked the people of Tamil Nadu for making her party lead above others in the state which made AIADMK the third largest party in the parliament.
All the 37 winners went to attend the meeting with Jayalalithaa to decide on the party's future course of action.
Many party supporters had gathered outside the Jayalalithaa's residence and were seen hailing the party's victory.
During the ongoing elections polls by leading news organizations had forecast that Jayalalithaa, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, would win most number of seats.
