DMK President M Karunanidhi today virutally disowned his elder son M K Alagiri while refuting the latter's statement that the party's defeat in the Lok Sabhya polls was due to his expulsion.

During a brief interaction with mediapersons about Mr Alagiri's. statement, Mr Karunanidhi shotback ' It has been several days since I and my party have forgotten him.'

He also stated that even when Mr Alagiri was in the party and had been playing a significant role, DMK had 'two or three times' suffered bad defeats in elections.

To Mr Alagiri's other charge that Mr Stalin's offer to quit party posts was just a drama by the latter, Mr Karunanidhi said 'I don't wish to speak about him anymore.

"As I told you, it has been days since I forgot him', he added.

When mediapersons asked him for the reason behind DMK's rout in the general elections, Mr Karunanidhi said in jest 'it was due to the fact that we did not poll enought votes' !
