The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) performed well in Krishna and Guntur districts winning 10 and 12 MLA seats respectively while the ruling Congress party candidates forfeited deposits in most of the constituencies.


The TDP had won 10 out of 16 MLA seats in Krishna District while its main opponent YSR Congress Party won five seats and the BJP won one seat.

TDP candidates elected were in Machilipatnam (N Ravindra), Pedana (Kagita Venkata Rao), Nandigama (T Prabhakar), Gannavaram (V Vamsi Mohan), Jaggayyaapet (Sriram Tataiah), Avanigadda (Mandali Buddha Prasad), Penamalauru (Bode Prasad), Mylavaram (D Umamaheshwara Rao), Vijayawada (East) (G Ramamohan Rao) and Vijayawada (Centre) (B Umamaheshwara Rao) while the BJP won from Kaikaluru (K Srinivas).

The YSRCP won from Vijayawada (West), Thiruvuru, Nuzvid, Gudivada and Pamarru. The TDP also won the two MP seats in Krishna District. In Guntur District, the TDP won 12 Assembly Segments, while the YSRCP won five.

The TDP won all the three MP seats in the district. Union Minister for State for Petroleum Panabaka Lakshmi, Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar and State Minister Kanna Lakshmi Narayana were among the prominent leaders who were defeated.
