KCR elected TRS Assembly party president
A day after poll results in Telangana region, The Legislature party of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which met here today unanimously elected K Chandrasekhara Rao as their Party President.
The election paves the way for KCR to become the first Chief Minister of 29th state of Telangana in the country.
Mr Rao won the Medak Lok Sabha seat with a thumping majority and also from Gajwel assembly seat.
The party has won 63 of the 119 Assembly seats while the Congress-20 and the Telugu Desam-BJP combine-20.
The new Chief Minister of Telangana will only be able to take charge after June 2, the Appointed day.
Telangana Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee (JAC) while thanking the voters in Telangana for electing TRS party to power with thumping majority has congratulated K Chandrasekhara Rao for being elected as TRS Legislative Party leader.
In a statement, JAC leaders Mohd Amanullah Khan, J Ravinder, M A saleem, M A razak and K Lakshmi Narasiah said that he would see that all the promises made to the people in TRS manifesto would be implemented.
They expressed the hope that the TRS government soon after formation would implement the promises made with regard to auto drivers such as exemption of Motor Vehicle Tax in respect of autorickshaws, exemption from 8th class pass condition for obtaining Driver License to drive autorickshaws, providing of accident and Life Insurance and stoppage of police and RTA harassment.
