Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Treasurer M K Stalin today said the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections did not reflect the 'democratic power', but only the 'money power' of political parties indirectly criticising the DMK's archrival and the ruling AIADMK.

In a chat with newspersons here he alleged with the active cooperation of the Election Commission 'money power elections' were held. Especially, the promulgation of the prohibition order under section 144 crpc, was mainly to help the ruling AIADMK to distribute money to voters without any curbs, he alleged.

He dismissed the exit poll results released by different visual media channels on April 12 evening, ahead of counting of votes on May 16.

The exit poll predictions were being imposed on the people by the media, fearing Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Mr Stalin charged.

Asked about DMK's view on BJP's reported statement that the party would welcome support from any party to form the government at the Centre, Mr Stalin said "you better ask this question to the BJP itself."
