Special Investigation team (SIT) probing the case relating to the attack on Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on October 27 last year, collected testimony from two CPI(M) MLAs of Kannur today when they appeared before them.

The MLAs K K Narayanan and C Krishnan went to district police guest room near the DIstrict police chief's office around 1000 hrs in separately and appeared before SIT DySP K S Sudharshan. The questioning lasted till 1205 hrs.

Eariler, police had issued a notice under CrPC 41 A section asking the two MLAs to appear on April 27.

However, they informed their inability to appear on the day due to personal engagements, through their Advocates. Later, SIT again issued notices to them on May 9 and appeared today as they were asked to do so before filing the charge sheet.

MLAs later told newspersons they were not involved in the attack case and had only attended an agitation by waving black flags to Chief minister as part of state level agitation.

DySP K S Sudharshan told newspersons that SIT gathered testimony from the MLAs after showing them video clippings and added the chargesheet would be filed soon before the court.
