Concluding his stormy election campaign for the 16th Lok Sabha polls by raising the slogan of 'Vande Matram', BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today asked Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi not to underestimate him, 'a tea-vendor', as he has the right to live in dignity and fulfil his dreams. 'I am ending my campaign from the birth place of the great revolutionist Mangal Pandey,' Mr Modi said while addressing his election meeting in Ballia. 'I had commenced the election campaign from Udhamopur after paying obeisance at Vaishno Devi shrine,' he stated. 'I pay my regards to all the people and hope for a positive change,' he said. 'I have seen poverty, run a tea-stall.I might reel under adverse conditions again, but I have the right to live in dignity and fulfil my dreams,' Mr Modi said while addressing an election meeting in Deoria.

'Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi and other party leaders can mock me calling me a tea-seller, but it is not a crime,' he remarked.

'I assure to give you a stable and strong government, but I only want the support of the people,' the Gujarat Chief Minister stated. He claimed that the departure of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi was definite this time. 'The youth know the real face of the Congress and were ready to create awareness ,' Mr Modi said.

The people are fed up of the weak and anti-people policies of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government. Thousands are villages are reeling under power crisis and lack of basic facilities, he said. Earlier too, Ms Gandhi and her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had accused Mr Modi of doing low-level politics. Mr Modi had allegedly associated these remarks with his backward caste and hit out at the Congress leaders for insulting him.

In his speech, the Gujarat CM further rapped the Samajwadi Party government for its anti-people policies. He promised better development in Poorvanchal, if the BJP-led NDA government comes to power at the Centre. The Deoria Lok Sabha seat is going to polls on May 12.
