Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today named six tiger cubs at the Arignar Anna Zoological Park at suburban Vandalur.


An official release here said, the Chief Minister named two female tiger cubs, born to a white tiger called Anu, as 'Thaaraa' and 'Meeraa'.

She named a male tiger cub, which too was born to Anu, as 'Bheemaa'.

Ms Jayalalithaa also named two male cubs, which were born to tiger Namrutha, as 'Aadhithyaa' and 'Karnaa'.

Also, she named a female tiger cub which was found at Sathyamangalam and brought to Vandalur Zoo as 'Uthraa'.

During her maiden visit to the zoo as the Chief Minister in March last year, Ms Jayalalithaa named white tigers as Arjuna and Athreya, two female white tiger cubs named as Kaveri and Chitra and the three female Royal Bengal tiger cubs as Nethra, Vidya and Aarthi.
