Nine structures, including kothars and a house, were damaged in two different fire incidents in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said here today.

They said fire broke out in village Shalgund in the frontier district of Kupwara. However, before the fire tenders could reach there, fire spread to nearby structures.

They said three kothars, three cowsheds, a store and a firewood shed were reduced to ashes. However, no one was injured, they said, adding the cause of fire was not known.

A residential house and other household goods were gutted in a fire incident at Pthpora Pandach in the city outskirts. No one was injured.
