TRS to form govt in Telangana, says KCR
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao today exuded confidence that his party will secure absolute majority in the just concluded general elections and form the Government in Telangana region and support Congress which will form the government at Centre.
Addressing mediapersons after the party's politburo meeting here, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said his party alone will secure more than 60 out of 119 assembly seats in elections held on April 30 and that may go up to 70,80 and even 90 seats, and form the Government.
"Some of the Congress leaders are claiming that they would form the Government with the support of others and I am sure they will not get more than 23 seats in Telangana," he said.
Referring to the elections in the Seemandhra region held on May 7, the TRS Chief said as per the information indications the YSR Congress Party led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would be able to form the Government and the people will forget TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would be able to form the next Government at the Centre, he expressed hope and said his party would extend support to him as UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi played a key role in formation of separate Telangana statehood.
