BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today condoled the passing away of Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

In a condolence message, Mr Naidu said, ''N Janardhana Reddy's demise is a loss to the people of Andhra Pradesh, particularly the Nellore district people. I convey my heartfelt condolences to his wife and sons.''

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Reddy passed away at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad this morning.

He was 79 and is survived by wife Rajyalakshmi and four sons.

Reddy, who was suffering from liver ailment, was admitted to NIMS, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment. His body has been shifted to his house in Somajiguda.

Dr Reddy, who was born in Vakadu of Nellore district, was the Chief Minister between 1990 and 1992 and he was a member of the 12th, 13th and 14th Lok Sabha.
