Kerala government has announced to spearhead the realisation of 676 projects that have already been rolled out in a time-bound manner.

Streamlined under Mission 676, these projects are crucial for providing a marked difference in the growth and development of Kerala in the coming years, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here here today.

As the government is nearing the completion of its third year in power, the remaining 676 days will be devoted for the successful realisation of the projects that are in the pipeline, he told mediapersons. ''This government that worked with the motto 'Development and care' achieved a lot in three years. It received support from all quarters. But there are many projects and programmes that must be implemented in a time-bound manner,'' he said. Mission 676 will be carried out in five ways. The most important of projects coming under the Navaratna Projects would be monitored by the CM and the ministers concerned.

Kochi Metro, Smart City, Vizhinjam Port, Kannur Airport, National Waterway, Monorail at Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, Suburban Railway, Surface Transport development including NH and Student Entrepreneurship programme are the ones under the Navaratna Projects.

Important Development, Welfare and Service missions numbering 30 will be implemented by ministers concerned and their departments in a time-bound manner. Various projects will come into play for the successful realization of each mission. Apart from the above, ministers and their departments would prepare detailed project reports and implement them. Ministers would announce the details of these projects from May 12 onwards.

Five projects aimed at ensuring government services to the public efficiently will be implemented with the Chief Secretary at the helm of things. These projects include Right to Services, e-governance, Clearing of backlog files, Right to Hearing and Making administrative and financial procedures simple.
