Seventeen sheeps were killed and three injured by two wolves, that entered a cattle shed where they were kept, at Athinipatti Village, near here, early today.

Official sources said K Nallu, a farmer of village, was rearing 38 sheeps. He kept them in a specially erected shed. As many as 17 sheeps were killed and three struggling for life.

An animal husbandry department doctor rushed to the spot and treated the injured sheeps.

Revenue officials visited the village and held enquiry with Nallu, the sources added.
