A committee headed by Ministers of Revenue and Power has been appointed to expedite the acquisition of land needed for the works of Kochi Metro in Kerala.

This decision was taken at the review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here today. The meeting has also directed to take steps for speeding up the works. 98 cents of land with St Albert's Convent needs to be acquired soon. The problems faced by the people in the areas where the construction of Metro is progressing should be resolved within 15 days.

For this, a committee of elected representatives and officials has been given shape. Steps will be taken to resolve the traffic congestion at HMT road within 10 days.

Amount sanctioned for acquisition of land will be distributed soon. Amount will also be sanctioned for completing the works of Edapally Flyover, Pachalam Railway Overbridge.

Power Minister Aryadan Muhammad, Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash, Excise Minister K Babu and others were also present.
