Anbazhagan condemnes caqses against 'unknown press persons'
AIADMK Pondy Unit Secretary A Anbazhagan (MLA) today condemned the registration of cases against some 'unknown'press persons by the D Nagar police on charge of entering a polling booth at Thilaspet in which Chief Minister N Rangasamy cast his vote.
Addressing a press conference here today,Anbazhagan said that the Puducherry election department,without properly understanding the model code had imposed a series of restrictions which was pointed out by the AIADMK time and again. Photgraphers were not allowed to take photographs on the nomination day itself.
Anbazhagan demanded that stringent action be initiated against government servants who worked for the NR Congress as well as the Congress parties here. Presently, such persons are being identified in Bahour constituency only. It should be extended to all constituencies and those worked for both the N R Congress and Congress be identified and action initiated in an impartial manner.
He also demanded a proper and thorough investigation by the CBI into the coal field allocation to the Puducherry administration in Odisha which was sold out to a private institution. He said the Puducherry adminsitration had sold the same to an institution owned by former union minister Jagathratchagan who in turn sold it to another company. Presently, Puducherry DMK convenor Dr M A S Subramanian is issuing statements that only the Congress is involved in the deal whereas,DMK president Karunanidhi,Ms Sonia Gandhi,Jagathratchagar,V Narayansmai, V Vaithiligam among others are involved since, the deal happened on their period.
Mr Anbazhagan also urged the territorial administraiton to take steps to implement the compulsory education act in the union territory at least in the coming accademic year to ensure free education to the poor students and to stremline the fees structure in the private educational institutions here.
